Ongoing Outreach Projects

There are many ways and places to serve at A Mighty Fortress.  We invite you to explore these opportunities and some of our outreach partners to see where your talents and energy can be used.
  • Weekly Tutoring Program- each week members work with students from our local elementary school to support their English language acquisition, reading skills, and school progress. 
  • ZOOM (Ziploc Opportunity Outreach Ministry) Bags- these portable offerings of food and love are distributed by members to those in our community suffering from homelessness.
  • Hearts to Hands CLT- we join with this organization to address specific needs of the homeless population within the center city of Charlotte.
  • Thrift Methodist Food Pantry- this ongoing partnership directly addresses food insecurity in our immediate neighborhood.  
  • CROP Walk- for the past 39 years we have raised funds and laced up our walking shoes to support local and international services that address food insecurity in our community and the world.
  • Paw Creek Elementary- Volunteers work in partnership with teachers with one-on-one and small-group student learning.  We support the school through book drives, tutors, donations, and other activities.
